Grand Mora Island is located in the northeast corner of Bandar Seri Begawan city, the capital of Brunei. The island is made of sand filled with loose soil, high temperature all year round, strong ultraviolet light, the climate is uncertain, and there is often heavy rain weather. In such a harsh environment, Hengyi Brunei PMB petrochemical Project, the first overseas large-scale petrochemical project that fully implemented Chinese standards, was built.
As a key project of “One Belt, One Road”, it is jointly cooperated by Zhejiang Hengyi Petrochemical Group and the Brunei government, and it is also the largest overseas investment project of domestic private enterprises. The original processing capacity of the first-phase project is as high as 8 million tons per year, and the annual output of paraxylene and benzene has reached 1.5 million tons and 500,000 tons respectively. The production capacity of the second-phase project can be doubled.
