Common faults and solutions of gas boiler burners
Common faults and solutions of gas boiler burners
The burner of a gas boiler is an important equipment of the boiler, consisting of five parts: air supply system, ignition system, monitoring system, fuel system, and electronic control system. It is responsible for gas combustion and provides heat source for the boiler. As a highly automated mechatronics equipment, gas boiler burners may experience some malfunctions during use and require timely maintenance and resolution
1. Connect the power, press start button, the motor does not turn
(1) Insufficient air pressure locking; Adjust the air pressure to the specified value.
(2) The solenoid valve is not tight and there is air leakage at the joint. Check and lock it; Clean or repair the solenoid valve pipeline joint.
(3) Open circuit of thermal relay; Press reset to check for component damage and motor current.
(4) At least one of the conditional circuits is not valid (water level, pressure, temperature, and whether the controller is powered on to start); Check if the water level, pressure, and temperature exceed the limit.
2. After starting, the front blowing is normal, but it cannot ignite
(1) Insufficient electric gas volume, check the circuit and repair it.
(2) The solenoid valve is not working (main valve, ignition valve); Replace with a new one.
(3) The solenoid valve is burnt out; Replace with a new one.
(4) Unstable air pressure; Adjust the air pressure to the specified value.
(5) The air volume is too high; Reduce air distribution and decrease the opening of the air damper.
3. Can’t ignite, normal air pressure, with electricity but no ignition
(1) The ignition transformer is burnt out; Replace with a new one.
(2) High voltage lines are damaged or detached; Reinstall or replace.
(3) The gap is too large or too small, and the relative size of the ignition rod position; Adjust the position.
(4) Electrode rupture or short circuit with ground; Reinstall or replace.
4. Turn off the engine within 5 seconds after ignition
(1) Insufficient air pressure, excessive pressure drop, and low gas supply flow rate; Adjust the air pressure again and clean the filter screen.
(2) The air volume is too low, the combustion is not sufficient, and the smoke color is thick; Adjust the air volume.
(3) The air volume is too high, resulting in white air; Adjust the air volume.
5. Emitting white smoke
(1) The air volume is too low; Reduce the air damper.
(2) The air humidity is too high; Reduce the air volume appropriately and increase the inlet air temperature.
(3) Low exhaust temperature; Take measures to increase the exhaust temperature.
6. The air door is stopped under control
The position switch signal of the air door has not been fed back to the program signal; Check if the wiring of the air door is loose or if the switch is malfunctioning.
7. Burner motor does not rotate
(1) No voltage; Just connect the circuit.
(2) The fuse is damaged; Replace the fuse.
(3) Motor malfunction; Repair.
(4) Control circuit interruption; Find the disconnection point, contact or disconnect the regulator or monitor.
(5) Gas transmission interruption; Open the ball valve and notify the gas management agency in case of prolonged gas shortage.
(6) Control failure; Replace.
(7) The contactor is not working; Manual reset inspection.
(8) The thermal relay is damaged; Replace the thermal relay.
8. The burner motor is running, but it stops after pre blowing
(1) Air pressure switch malfunction; Replace.
(2) The pressure switch is contaminated and the pipeline is blocked; Clean up.
(3) The solenoid valve is not sealed; Repair or replace the solenoid valve.
9. The burner motor is running, and the voltage is applied to terminal 16 of the controller. There is no ignition, and the machine will shut down later due to a fault
(1) The distance between the ignition electrode is too large; Adjust the electrode spacing.
(2) Contaminated; Clean thoroughly.
(3) Grounding of ignition electrode or circuit; Remove grounding and replace damaged electrodes or cables.
(4) Ignition transformer malfunction; Replace the ignition transformer.
10. The motor is running and the ignition is normal, but it will shut down later due to a malfunction
The solenoid valve did not open because the solenoid coil was damaged or the cable was broken; Replace the solenoid valve or troubleshoot the circuit failure, and check the voltage on terminal 17.
