Development of Fire Tube Boiler
The high dust content of the waste heat boiler seriously affects its service life due to wear and tear issues. Considering the importance of waste heat boilers, on the one hand, thick walled pipes are used for the heating surface to improve the strength of the pipes; On the other hand, reasonable control of flue gas flow rate can reduce wear rate, decrease the failure rate of waste heat boiler, and improve the service life of waste heat boiler. Due to the presence of acidic gases such as SO2, HCl, and HF in the flue gas, selecting boiler steam parameters and controlling the temperature point of the heating surface can avoid high-temperature and low-temperature corrosion.
Fire tube boilers include cylindrical boilers, single tube boilers, double tube boilers, smoke tube boilers, smoke tube boilers, vertical boilers, etc.
Another direction is to increase the heating area outside the cylinder, that is, to increase the number of water cylinders, so that the fuel burns outside the cylinder. Similar to the development of fire tube boilers, the number of water tubes continues to increase, evolving into many small-diameter water tubes. These boilers are collectively referred to as water tube boilers because water flows through the tubes. There are whole box horizontal water tube boilers, split box horizontal water tube boilers, straight water tube boilers, curved water tube boilers, etc. Initially, boilers were mainly developed along the first direction of increasing the internal heating area of the boiler shell in the form of fire tube (smoke tube) boilers. Until the mid-19th century, boilers began to develop in the second direction, namely water tube boilers. In addition, there are also some boilers with water and fire tube sets, such as longitudinal drum quick loading boilers, vertical curved water tube boilers, etc.
