The necessity of boiler shutdown maintenance for biomass pellet fuel boilers

Shutdown is an essential step in the use of boilers. For example, after a long period of operation, a normal shutdown is needed for maintenance and upkeep; if an emergency occurs during use, an emergency shutdown is needed to find and repair the problem. Biomass boilers, oil and gas boilers, waste heat boilers, chain grate coal-fired boilers, circulating fluidized bed coal-fired boilers, and others all have similar maintenance methods, but due to differences in the boiler’s own structure and layout, their shutdown maintenance methods will still have some differences. The following will explain why biomass pellet fuel boilers must undergo shutdown maintenance:

1. When biomass fuel boilers begin to stop using, due to the fact that the boiler itself needs to burn coal and biomass fuels, the area of the boiler that is corroded becomes larger, and the amount of rust produced is much greater than before use. After that, the water inside the furnace must be drained, but there will still be a lot of steam, but due to the shutdown, the ventilation effect inside the furnace is not good. If no maintenance and protection are performed, the interior of the boiler will be continuously eroded by damp air. Therefore, the period when the boiler is shut down is also the most susceptible period to corrosion, and the inner side of the boiler will become thinner, the hardness of the hardware will become lower, and the service life of the boiler will ultimately be greatly reduced;

2. When biomass energy fuel boilers are shut down and then used again, the corrosion problem in the boiler will greatly increase. Among them, the rust produced inside the boiler will react chemically during the operation of the boiler, further turning the rust generated due to corrosion into iron filings, which will settle in the boiler, thereby causing the water quality in the boiler to deteriorate, the process of fuel combustion to be prolonged, and more fuel to be added, thereby increasing the cost of boiler operation; in addition, the increase in rust will also cause corrosion to worsen, and if used again, it will form a vicious circle of corrosion inside the boiler, ultimately causing more serious corrosion in the interior of the boiler.

From the above, it can be seen that not only biomass fuel boilers, but all types of boilers must undergo maintenance!
