Xinjiang Zhundong Economic and Technological Development Zone is located in the north of Jimsar County and Qitai County, Changji Prefecture, on the southeast edge of the Junggar Basin, 200 kilometers west of Urumqi City, spanning three counties of Jimsar, Qitai and Mulei, Changji Prefecture. It is 220 kilometers long from east to west, 60 kilometers wide from north to south on average, and has a total planned area of 15500 square kilometers.
